[...]
What makes Steve’s methodology different from everyone else’s is that he always believed the most important decisions you make are not the things you do – but the things that you decide not to do. He’s a minimalist.
[...]
He just didn’t believe in having lots of things around but he was incredibly careful in what he selected.

Both of them had this ability to not invent products, but discover products. Both of them said these products have always existed – it’s just that no one has ever seen them before. We were the ones who discovered them. The Polaroid camera always existed and the Macintosh always existed — it’s a matter of discovery.

Andererseits eine Rede von Steve Jobs zur akademischen Abschlussfeier der Stanford Universität 2005 "Your Time Is Limited, So Don't Waste It Living Someone Else's Life"
[...]
Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.
